This series of paintings were made in the last 3 years (2020-2022), during this stage I was conducting research on the festive rites, I started analyzing the photographic archives of my own family albums and then that of my closer circle. With this project I begin to diagnose that the states of celebration is a fiction that hides family secrets, fetishisms, stories and passive-aggressive control.
In Latin America, the family is a very strong nucleus for our identity and organizing a lunch every Sunday, decorating the house to celebrate any achievement or news is a permanent annual appointment. From this point, I am interested in thinking that the space we inhabit, everything is ritual, everything is ceremonial and everything is governed by a personal character of ideas, postures, tricks and magic. The intensity of my colors seeks to give another character to the past, to avoid nostalgia and to offer our memory a new state of belonging, a scenario of chaos, chaos and frenzy.
These 05 paintings participate in different moments of children’s celebrations. Super Senpai in the speed before destroying a piñata, Good friendships the silence and confidence of the female bodies that are formed in the circle of women, Pijama Party, the meeting and silence of waiting to go to the decontrol of a pajama party, All star meeting is maximum overflow of the dance, and finally A not so sweet taste is a totally acid scenario of greens.

I capture the familiar rites of passage, because they are experiences that we have all been through and are still part of, with old or new ornaments. For me it is important to represent a new version of longing, to want to teleport us to our birthday parties or canonical events and give it an autonomous and free protagonism. This selection of five paintings is a balance between silence and theatricality.
I am interested in the archive, documentation, memory, remembrance, love, affectivity, the other, photography, writing, drawing, printing, video, humor, festive rites, celebrations, laughter, conversations, colors, the action of painting, listening, seeing, the sea, observing and generating friendly encounters between individuals. The research in my work is based on the evidence of memory from private spaces, which allows me to feel and observe the stories that keep the objects, the revealed image and affection. For me, it is important to make visible the affective link, to observe the dimension of affectivity and how it is reproduced in different media, spaces and encounters.
